HQ Beach Party and Cirque Du Soleil - Dralion @ Melbourne Docklands

Every year, the company has a "christmas party" around Mar/Apr period. Why they do it at this time of the year is probably because Australia is one of the countries with 4 seasons yet it doesn't snow during Christmas cause it's Summer. Anyway the theme this year was "Beach Party". They had like a seashells, floats and sailor hats as decors. Some people even wore thongs and batik shorts! It was insane when the weather was cold and like 15-17 degrees outside, though we had those large heater torches inside. There was free flow of food and drinks, and the main point was it was during office hours, so basically paid party time!

The big white tent erected outside just next to one of our office blocks. Boy they had that up from the day before and the fish was probably another symbol of the beach?!

The inside of the tent. Yes it actually fitted quite a lot of people! There's about a couple of hundred of people working in headquarters itself and not all came down that day.

With my favourite Operations Manager, Peter Baker. He's like papa smurf and really nice and he's crazy about F1 that he actually went to Sepang Circuit before just to watch the Grand Prix. So he keeps mentioning it whenever he sees me.

Oh and not to forget there was also Lucky Draw time! And our CEO Neil Bibby picked out the lucky numbers. This would be the last of his appearance in functions like this as he is moving on to another job in June.

Hehe, I "won" something and the reason for the double quotes is because the ticket wasn't mine. It belonged to the Project Manager who had left and so I share some of the stuff with my colleagues. It was a nice set of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant and lip bum.

Oh and we also went to watch Cirque Du Soleil - Dralion at Melbourne Docklands last Saturday. Boy it was yet another cold, gloomy and cloudy day. The performance was good, but I was honestly expecting a bit more. The show also didn't run the full 2 hours as stated on their website and when I emailed them, they said no one else complained about it. It's funny how come some people are so easily satisfied. If in Singapore, you tell people 2 hours and it ended earlier, people sure complain one. Well maybe I was also comparing this with the Wicked musical cause the ticket prices were about the same - pretty expensive. Ah well, it's the experience I guess.

The big tent outside Waterfront city at Docklands or the Grand Chapiteau as they would like to more elegantly call it. There were a few other different tents, one optus, the souvenir and food and drinks area and the Tapis Rouge.

Hehe, the five of us fooling around with the different clown hats. Can't remember how much they were, but we didn't buy it, just took photo with it for fun! :p

Me, Eileen and Ammie now posing with the different masks which were for sale for $18 each hor! Yes I admit they are good quality, but honestly with some of the souvenir's pricing, you're more likely paying for the brand instead. :s

Group photo of course! There is this huge banner hung outside at the container, obviously for people to take photo lor. The security guard took this for us and it proved he certainly isn't a very good photographer, half the word "Dralion" is missing. :p

Dralion is a performance based on the 4 elements: Earth, Air, Water and Fire and each of this dancers represent one of the elements. Of course we weren't allowed to take photos of video during the show, so this is a scan from the program guide. I have more photos and more scans of the acts and performers on facebook, so if you're a friend or on my network, you should be able to view the album here.

Till then, looking forward to the Gold Coast trip next week! Woohoo!

Bit and pieces of the remaining whole of April...

Haven't been updating again this month, oh well, I guess it sorta gets to this when the time passes so fast and there's holidays and stuff and there was nothing really super exciting to rant about. In short, I bought myself the new Nintendo DSi. It was actually a trade-in of my old chipped pink Nintendo DS Lite. A pretty good deal actually, I only had to pay extra $150 more to get it and it came with a free 2GB SD Card. And of course for the moment the new gadget doesn't support the R4 Revolution, so it's back to buying games legitimately. :p
Especially love the new Photo-taking feature, you can distort faces, put new frames, draw graffitti on your photos and much more! It's much like what the neo print machines can do, except you can take as many photos as you want here and its free! :D Of course don't expect too much about the photo quality. I also like the idea of downloading games to play from the DSi store, they are not too costly at all

Then we went bowling with Daniel and Serene on Easter Sunday. CFA was given free passes to play 2 games on either of the weekends. And we opted for Sunday so that serene was off and can come with us too.
Daniel and Serene - Mr. and Miss Singapore. Heeheehee... :p

Bro, the poser during his move...

Tubby and moi...

Then just a couple of weeks ago, we also went to the Sandown Toy Collectors Fair. Boy people quere queueing up like way early in the morning lah! We were late but we cut queue seeing Stuart and his wife and kids. :p
Lining up to buy tickets and be the first to check out the goodies!

A snapshot of how one part of the interior looked like. They had stores outside too.

The boys digging for goodies and seeing what they can find for a good price. Man they have good bargaining skills!

Group shot of part of the ozformers melbourne group!

Well and the rest of the time is being busy with Tennis and going to the gym. The BRTA District comps on Saturdays have also started. Oh and we also watched Xmen Origins: Woverine. Boy is Taylor Kistch (Gambit) super hot lar! Anyway am super-duper looking forward to this weekend because we are going to watch Cirque Du Soleil - Dralion this Saturday!!! Will update with photos another time! Oh oh oh and Len and Joewiz are coming to Melbourne for a visit and we're all going to Gold Coast together! Oh man! May is such an exciting month! :D
